I took a somewhat unique path to becoming a personal injury and medical malpractice attorney.  First, I attended Florida State University; obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in political science with a minor in biology and chemistry, and a Master’s Degree in molecular biology.  Thereafter, I was a college professor for about ten years, where I taught courses in molecular biology, microbiology, and anatomy and physiology. I later decided to pursue my interest in the law.  I received my Juris Doctor degree from Barry University – Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, Florida.

During law school, I interned in a personal injury law firm.  After graduating and passing the Florida Bar Exam, I was an Assistant Public Defender attorney in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office.  At the Public Defender’s Office, I gained valuable experience handling hundreds of cases, and fighting for the rights of the indigent and under-served.  I appeared in court on behalf of my clients almost every day of the week. 

After my time with the Public Defender’s Office, I took a position in a small law firm in which I handled personal injury cases including automobile crashes, slip and falls, and premise liability. Later, I honed my skills further when I moved on to one of the largest personal injury law firms in America. 

I draw upon my extensive science background and legal training to provide a high level of expertise for all of my clients’ cases.  And as a former teacher, I know how to explain complicated scientific/medical and legal topics in a clear, understandable way.
